Save: consider the ants, they store up in the time of plenty.

Give: giving to the poor is like lending to God. Jesus said that the meausre we use when we decide what to give will be the measure given back to us. Giving aligns us with God's purposes.

Spend wisely: Jesus came that we might have abundant life. His plans for us are good but we need to consider the whole of scripture regarding finance. We are blessed to be a blessing.

One of the things that the current financial crisis can be traced back to is people living outside their means. People taking on too much debt and not considering what would happen if house prices in particular, fell.

Be ruthless with yourself and don't spend what you don't have.

Give yourself a buffer so that you are not living at the edge of what you can afford.

Be utterly determined to pay off credit card debt.
